Hello, I’m Frances :~) (she/her)

I’m a visual artist, co-director of Studio Maverik & marketing specialist based in Magandjin (Brisbane), Australia. My work is a contemporary take on traditional drawing, created through a romanticist lens. In my practice, I explore themes of intimacy, the body, nature and storytelling. I believe that the personal is the most deeply profound - our bodies, stories and rituals are universal, and there is power in sharing and relating.

I studied a Bachelor of Fine Art (Studio Practice) and Business (Marketing) at the Queensland College of Art, graduating in 2021. Currently, I work as a visual artist, life drawing facilitator & marketing consultant specialising in creative industries. I have exhibited in Australia and internationally in Greece and Norway. Currently working and living in Magandjin (Brisbane), Australia.

I acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which I create upon, the Turrbal and Yuggera peoples, and pay respects to Elders — past, present and emerging. I recognise and acknowledge them as the first storytellers and artists of this land, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded — we live on stolen land.
